The theme of ICBO 2016 is ‘Food, Nutrition, Health and Environment for the 9 billion’. Papers in traditional core areas of ontology-based research and development are invited, including

  • Development of ontologies for knowledge capture through improved annotation of biomedical datasets (including datasets from plant biology)
  • Metadata standards
  • Role of ontologies in data mining and user applications
  • Discovering the semantic role of microbiome in promoting human, plant and environment health
  • Role of the public and private sectors in biological data analytics

We will be actively looking to add systematics, plant biology, agriculture, ecology, and the atmospheric and ocean sciences to the traditional biological, biomedical and data science foci of the ICBO conference.
