Abstract

Many social roles are necessarily related to organizations. Employee roles and primary insured roles are just a few examples. However, the relations between such roles and organizations have yet to be systematically worked out in the context of BFO-based ontologies. As an initial step toward developing such a systematic representation, we present use-case driven representations connecting roles to organizations in the context of insurance policies, scientific grants, and U.S. National Census data in OWL/RDF.
